Supporting Advocacy on Primary Health Care Under One Roof (PHCUOR) through Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF)
The Advocacy on Primary Health Care Under One Roof (PHCUOR) through Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) is a 3 years project thatuses the platform of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) to strengthen the commitment of Nigerian Governors in the implementation of Primary Health Care Under One Roof (PHCUOR) in line with the National Health Act (NHAct). Its overall objective is provide an integrated PHC system that enhances better Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) outcomes. The three year program is managed by Network for Health Equity and Development (NHED) and is funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. NHED is working in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of health (FMOH) and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) to generate evidence based information that will be used by the NGF secretariat to effectively engage and advocate with the NGF and Governors to win their commitment. In addition, the program has an embedded technical assistance to the NGF for day to day support and effective coordination of its activities. In doing this, NHED is also collaborating with other development partners and CSOs working on National Health Act (NHact) and PHCUOR. To stimulate state level implementation NHED will identify and give technical support to States whose governors demonstrate significant enthusiasm and commitment towards the implementation of PHCUOR.
